Trinamool Congress General Secretary and Lok Sabha member Abhishek Banerjee will conduct two virtual meetings with party leaders and workers in the next three days. The first meeting, scheduled for December 26, will focus on preparations for the upcoming hearing session on claims and objections regarding the draft voters’ list in West Bengal starting on December 27.
Around 5,000 party leaders from various levels and booth-level agents will participate in the Friday meeting. Banerjee will assign specific roles to the booth-level agents for the upcoming hearing sessions on claims and objections. Additionally, guidelines will be provided to district leaders who will oversee the booth-level agents during the sessions.
In the second meeting on December 28, the party’s General Secretary will provide crucial instructions for launching a comprehensive campaign for the forthcoming assembly elections in mid-2026. Banerjee is expected to outline strategies for engaging with the public, emphasizing the state government’s development projects’ successes and the benefits of welfare schemes for the common people.
The virtual meetings will also address internal party issues, with Banerjee likely to caution party workers and leaders involved in internal conflicts that are causing concerns for the party leadership. Elected party MPs, legislators, municipal corporation heads, and zilla parishad heads are all required to attend both virtual meetings.
Banerjee has announced plans to kick off campaign programs across West Bengal in January, including public rallies and roadshows in various districts.
