A day after being expelled from Trinamool Congress, legislator Ritabrata Banerjee criticized the party’s General Secretary and Lok Sabha member, Abhishek Banerjee. Ritabrata Banerjee accused Abhishek Banerjee of seeking Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) security cover after facing public backlash in South 24 Parganas district.
“What kind of a mass leader is he?” Ritabrata Banerjee questioned Abhishek Banerjee’s leadership, highlighting his request for security cover following the party’s recent electoral loss. Ritabrata Banerjee emphasized his own stance of not seeking such security measures and expressed his loyalty to former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Ritabrata Banerjee also criticized Abhishek Banerjee’s management style within Trinamool Congress, attributing the party’s decline to his approach through Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC). He praised Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, underscoring her unique qualities and his continued respect for her.
The expulsion of Ritabrata Banerjee and another Trinamool Congress legislator, Sandipan Saha, followed revelations of signature mismatches in a resolution regarding Assembly slot allotments. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari disclosed the discrepancies, leading to a CID investigation initiated by Speaker Rathindra Bose based on information provided by the expelled legislators.
