Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee criticized party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee for the party’s decline in Bengal politics. He also targeted the party’s former political consultant agency and Abhishek’s aides. Kalyan mentioned that those who once supported Abhishek and the agency are now turning against them.
He highlighted the presence of rebel camp leaders within Trinamool Congress and expressed his inclination to leave the party due to them. Despite not joining the rebellion post the Assembly election defeat, Kalyan reiterated his allegiance to Mamata Banerjee’s faction. He continued to voice his disapproval of Abhishek Banerjee’s actions.
Kalyan specifically pointed fingers at Abhishek’s office on Camac Street in central Kolkata. He criticized Abhishek’s executive assistant Sumit Roy, who is currently evading the police. Kalyan mentioned that individuals associated with Sumit Roy are now facing legal repercussions, linking them to a case at the Salbani police station.
He further alleged that authorities are pressuring leaders to choose between joining the rebel camp or facing arrest. Kalyan attributed these challenges to Abhishek’s office, stating that “Camac Street finished us off.” He accused those who have switched to the rebel faction of benefiting from Abhishek and the political consultant agency.
Kalyan claimed that the same individuals who once supported Abhishek are now speaking out against him. He criticized the rebels for distancing themselves from him when he raised concerns about the agency. Kalyan recalled facing opposition from current rebels when he initially criticized the agency in 2022.
