The Trinamool Congress in Kolkata has raised concerns about irregularities related to a sealed strongroom, urging the Election Commission to clarify the situation. Party leader Shashi Panja highlighted suspicious activities seen on surveillance cameras inside the sealed strongrooms, emphasizing the need for transparency in such matters.
Panja further pointed out that no political party representatives were present when the room was accessed, questioning the necessity of opening it without proper notification. Trinamool spokesperson Kunal Ghosh echoed these concerns, emphasizing the importance of understanding the nature and reasons behind the observed movements inside the facility.
Despite the allegations, Ghosh expressed confidence in the party’s electoral success, reassuring that the Trinamool Congress remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of the voting process. Trinamool MP Dola Sen emphasized the party’s readiness to take legal action if required, underscoring the importance of maintaining vigilance at all strongrooms to prevent any potential tampering.
Sen also criticized the BJP’s performance projections, highlighting the ongoing political tensions in the state as it prepares for vote counting. The Trinamool Congress insists on strict adherence to electoral protocols and transparency in handling the strong rooms storing ballot materials.
