Following recent changes to the state committee, the rebel faction of the Trinamool Congress, led by Ritabrata Banerjee, has now reconstituted the party’s district committees, showcasing their dominance at the district level. The announcement of the Ritabrata camp’s district committees and a panel of spokespersons was made simultaneously, with Anubrata Mondal, a prominent figure, taking on a new role in Birbhum district.
Political observers note that the rebel faction’s systematic restructuring of committees is a direct challenge to Mamata Banerjee’s authority in state politics. At an organizational meeting, attended by leaders like Nirmal Ghosh, new faces and established figures were present, including former MPs and councilors.
Ritabrata Banerjee has unveiled a list of leaders tasked with district responsibilities to fortify the organization. Key assignments include Arunabha Sen for rural Howrah, Shrishtidhar Ghosh for Howrah Sadar, and various others for different districts across West Bengal. Notably, a panel of spokespersons, including Prasun Banerjee, has been appointed to convey the party’s political message.
