A tragic incident in Tripura’s South district has led to a thorough police investigation following the discovery of an elderly couple and their son dead in their residence in West Muhuripur. The deceased individuals have been identified as Shankar Chakraborty (65), his wife Chhabi Chakraborty (49), and their son Krishna Chakraborty (27). Authorities suspect that Krishna may have killed his parents before taking his own life, but all possibilities are being considered, including external involvement.
Police found the bodies of the elderly couple inside the house, with Krishna’s body hanging in the same room. Law enforcement officials, along with forensic experts and an Executive Magistrate, quickly responded to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. The case took a twist when Krishna’s brother dismissed the initial murder-suicide theory, suggesting a potential connection to Krishna’s recent court marriage dispute.
Krishna had recently married a woman through a court marriage, which his family accepted but allegedly faced opposition from the bride’s relatives. On the day of the incident, Krishna returned home early and requested help in caring for his ailing father. His brother, Mithun, discovered the gruesome scene after Krishna and their mother did not respond to calls, finding Krishna hanging and his parents brutally attacked. Mithun pointed fingers at the bride’s family, although no concrete evidence was provided.
The investigation is ongoing, focusing on evidence from the crime scene and various leads. Authorities are awaiting post-mortem results, forensic analysis, and further investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and the reasons behind the tragic deaths. Police officials emphasized that all angles are being explored, and no conclusions have been drawn yet.
