Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha declared that the state has reached a zero dropout rate in primary schools, a significant accomplishment in the education sector. Efforts by the Elementary Education Department and student-focused initiatives have contributed to this success.
Saha emphasized the state’s commitment to the NIPUN Bharat Mission and the Saharsha Tripura program, which aim at the holistic development of children. Various measures such as providing learning aids, digital learning initiatives, and establishing libraries in schools are being implemented to support students and prevent dropouts.
To monitor attendance and prevent dropouts effectively, the government is using U-DISE. Special training for out-of-school children, residential hostel facilities for remote area students, separate toilets in schools, stipends for special needs children, teacher-parent meetings, and free uniforms and textbooks are among the additional support measures. Saha reiterated the government’s dedication to education, ensuring every child in Tripura stays connected to primary education.
Chief Minister Saha congratulated Ram Pada Jamatia on becoming the new Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly. Following the passing of the previous Speaker, Biswa Bandhu Sen, the uncontested election of Jamatia signifies confidence in his leadership. Saha praised Jamatia’s address in Hindi, highlighting its positive impact on the Assembly’s atmosphere.
Expressing confidence in Jamatia’s ability to fulfill his duties impartially and efficiently, Saha extended his personal congratulations and hoped for a distinguished tenure contributing to democratic values in Tripura.
