Tripura is gearing up to draw investment proposals totaling nearly Rs 1 lakh crore across various sectors during the upcoming Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026, set to kick off on July 9, as stated by Chief Minister Manik Saha. The Chief Minister, in a recent high-level review meeting, emphasized the significance of hosting the conclave on a large scale for the first time in the state and urged officials to ensure its success.
CM Saha highlighted the importance of securing both domestic and foreign investments to boost employment opportunities, raise per capita income, and bolster Tripura’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). He underlined the role of such business summits in driving economic growth and reshaping the state’s investment scenario. Referring to the transformative initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, CM Saha commended the collective efforts of officials and employees in organizing significant events like the G-20 meetings and the North Eastern Council (NEC) plenary session.
The state government aims to attract investment proposals worth around Rs 1 lakh crore during this year’s conclave, with a focus on sectors such as healthcare, education, information technology, transport, and tourism. Notably, MoUs worth close to Rs 30,000 crore were inked during the previous year’s business conclave, with projects worth approximately Rs 8,000 crore already in the implementation phase. To ensure seamless execution of the event and efficient coordination among participating departments, CM Saha offered several recommendations to officials.
Industries and Commerce Department Secretary Kiran Gitte provided an overview of the conclave, scheduled to commence on the afternoon of July 9. The inaugural session will witness the presence of the Chief Minister, Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia, state cabinet members, and other dignitaries. The event will feature over 20 exhibition stalls showcasing the initiatives and investment potential of various state government departments and Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs), with an expected participation of around 500 delegates from India and abroad.
