Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed strong confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) prospects in the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections on April 12. Saha highlighted the significant public support for the BJP among tribal communities in the TTAADC regions, emphasizing the party’s commitment to comprehensive development and enhancing people’s quality of life.
Speaking at the nomination filing event for BJP candidates in Longtharai Valley, Dhalai district, Saha commended the enthusiastic response from the public, underscoring the party’s dedication to democratic processes. He noted that all 28 BJP candidates submitted their nominations on the final day, signaling a positive outlook for the party’s performance in the TTAADC elections.
The Chief Minister attributed the strong voter turnout and support to Prime Minister Modi’s enduring popularity among the people. The nomination rally witnessed the participation of senior BJP leaders, MLA Shambhu Lal Chakma, party candidates, and numerous party members, reflecting a unified effort towards electoral success.
The BJP’s allies, the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) and the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), have also fielded candidates independently for the TTAADC polls. With various political parties intensifying their campaigns to secure tribal voter support, the upcoming elections are poised to be a closely contested affair. The polling for the 30-member TTAADC is scheduled for April 12, with the vote count slated for April 17.
