Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stressed the importance of students not only excelling academically but also becoming good individuals dedicated to serving society and the nation. He criticized the CPI (M) for creating an environment of fear and political intimidation that hindered the state’s education system. Saha made these remarks during a felicitation event for students who passed this year’s Madhyamik and Higher Secondary exams.
Congratulating the successful students, the Chief Minister attributed their achievements to hard work, determination, and the support of their families, teachers, and educational institutions. He highlighted the crucial role of a conducive academic environment in enabling students to reach their full potential. Saha recalled the challenging educational atmosphere in the 1970s, marked by fear and political disturbances that hampered students’ focus on learning.
Saha criticized the CPI (M) for not respecting India’s great personalities and creating an atmosphere that hindered students’ performance. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing a renewed focus on education, values, and nation-building. The Chief Minister warned about international conspiracies targeting youth and expressed concerns about drug abuse among the younger generation. He emphasized the government’s unwavering campaign against narcotics to protect the future of the youth.
Highlighting Tripura’s progress in education and healthcare, Saha mentioned initiatives to expand higher education opportunities within the state. He outlined plans for establishing dental, Ayurvedic, Homoeopathy, and pharmacy colleges to provide quality professional education locally. Saha urged students to prioritize character-building and social responsibility alongside academic success, emphasizing the role of values, integrity, and discipline in shaping a prosperous India.
