Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted the importance of genuine education in helping individuals integrate into society. He expressed the state government’s dedication to fostering outstanding students in all schools by enhancing the education system. Saha laid the foundation stone for a new high school building in West Tripura, tracing the institution’s origins back to 1953 when Nabin Chandra Chakraborty donated the land for its establishment.
The Chief Minister recognized the efforts of various individuals, such as Bhupesh Chakraborty, Surindra Das, Indra Kumar Das, and Kartik Chakraborty, in constructing the school. He also emphasized the cultural significance of ‘bhoomi pujan,’ a Hindu ritual symbolizing respect for the motherland, during the ceremony. Saha stressed the need for continuous learning and the perpetual nature of education, urging teachers to stay updated with the evolving times to nurture exceptional students across Tripura.
Saha underscored that education transcends textbooks, shaping minds and character. He noted that genuine education empowers individuals to establish themselves in society, fostering confidence, values, and the ability to tackle social challenges. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s perspective, the Chief Minister emphasized that education should instill values, drive development, and contribute to nation-building.
The event witnessed the presence of dignitaries like Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, Corporator Abhijit Mallick, Education Director N.C. Sharma, School Management Committee Chairman Tapas Bhattacharya, and social workers Asim Bhattacharya, Shyamal Kumar Deb, and Sajal Chakraborty.
