The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, highlighted the importance of unity among the people to accelerate the state’s development towards an ideal Tripura. He reiterated the government’s focus on socio-economic progress and maintaining peace as top priorities during the Tripura Statehood Day celebration. Saha emphasized that unity, cooperation, and harmony are crucial for Tripura’s advancement and sustaining development momentum.
During the event, the Chief Minister shared Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message calling for a developed and self-reliant India by 2047. He noted that Tripura is aligning its efforts with this national vision. Reflecting on Tripura’s historical journey, Saha recalled the state’s formal merger with the Indian Union in 1949 after significant contributions from various leaders.
Tripura has witnessed notable progress since the BJP government took office in 2018, excelling in sectors like agriculture, education, health, and public security. The state now ranks second in the Northeast in terms of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and per capita income. Additionally, Tripura has been recognized as the only digital state in the country, winning numerous awards for effective development program implementation.
Efforts to promote women’s self-reliance have been successful in Tripura, with a significant number of women participating in Self-Help Groups. The government is also focusing on the socio-economic development of tribal communities. Notable personalities were honored with State Citizen Awards and Statehood Day Awards for their contributions across various fields during the event.
