Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted the state’s progress in education, culture, sports, industry, and commerce, positioning it among the nation’s leading states in overall development. Speaking virtually from the Belonia Vidyapeeth ground, he inaugurated various development projects across Tripura. Among these projects were the inauguration of new school buildings like Niharnagar Class XII School and Ghoshkhamar Class XII School, emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
Saha mentioned that projects worth approximately Rs 80 crore are underway in the Rajnagar area, focusing on infrastructure development in areas like roads, water, electricity, and education. He stressed the establishment of new schools, the creation of smart classrooms and digital libraries, provision of student stipends, and alignment of SCERT courses with the National Education Policy. The Chief Minister also underlined the significance of quality education, likening schools to temples of learning and advocating for strong teacher-student relationships.
Furthermore, Saha discussed the role of teachers in instilling social values, drawing parallels to ancient educational centers like Nalanda and Taxila. He noted the opening of vocational training centers in 435 schools statewide and the development of sports infrastructure to nurture talent at grassroots levels. The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of sports in promoting a drug-free Tripura and recognized the achievements of national-level cricketers like Manishankar Murasingh.
In a bid to enhance sports facilities, Saha inaugurated the Belonia Indoor Cricket Practice Shed and similar facilities in Jirania and Kailashahar. Additionally, he kicked off the final match of the South Tripura district-level Drug-Free Premier Football League. Earlier, Saha laid the foundation stone for the Vidyasagar Fish and Vegetable Market in Banakare, Belonia, in the presence of Cooperative Minister Shuklacharan Noatia, MLAs, senior officials, district administration officials, and other dignitaries.
