The Melaghar Rath Yatra, rooted in Tripura’s history, is a significant cultural event that attracts devotees and visitors from Northeast India and neighboring Bangladesh. The festival, originating from the princely state of Tripura, has evolved into one of the region’s oldest and largest chariot festivals. The towering wooden chariot at Melaghar, standing at 58 feet, serves as a focal point for the celebrations and contributes to the local economy.
