Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the importance of the Census, stating it is crucial for planning and executing developmental programs. He actively took part in the self-enumeration process for the Census of India 2027 from his official residence in Agartala, encouraging others to do the same. Saha highlighted the significance of the 2027 Census and praised the introduction of self-enumeration for its simplicity and transparency.

Tripura officially launched the self-enumeration process for the Census of India 2027 at Lok Bhavan, marking a significant move towards a fully digital Census. Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu inaugurated the initiative by personally completing the self-enumeration process online, setting an example for citizens. The first phase of the Census, the self-enumeration process, began on Friday and will run until July 31, followed by House Listing and House Enumeration from August 1 to August 30.

Director of Census Operations, Tripura, Ratan Biswas, announced the commencement of the self-enumeration process and the upcoming House Listing and House Enumeration phase. Enumerators and supervisors, mainly government schoolteachers, will visit households to gather necessary information. The Population Enumeration phase is scheduled for February 2027, where detailed socio-economic data will be collected.
