Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, a senior BJP leader, called on the people of West Bengal to oust the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, citing alleged terror, corruption, and lawlessness during its 15-year rule. Speaking at a ‘Paribartan Yatra’ rally in Bardhaman district, Saha emphasized the need for the BJP to take charge to restore democracy and peace in the state.
Describing Bardhaman as a place of revolution and devotion, Saha highlighted challenges faced by the state’s residents in organizing religious events. He pointed out incidents of violence and claimed that permissions are sometimes required even for Saraswati Puja celebrations. Moreover, Saha alleged obstructions during Kali Puja idol immersions and attacks on Ram Navami processions in various locations.
Accusing the TMC of deteriorating the political and democratic environment in West Bengal, Saha criticized the government for alleged corruption and irregularities in recruitment processes. He also accused the TMC of exploiting illegal Bangladeshi immigrants for votes and claimed that the state has not cooperated with the Centre in securing the international border with Bangladesh.
Highlighting Tripura’s development initiatives, Saha noted improvements in law and order, attributing increased investments to the enhanced security situation. He urged the people of West Bengal to make the “right decision” by electing a BJP government to address the widespread issues of corruption, crime, and scams plaguing the state.
