Tripura Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced that Rs 46.36 crore will be directly deposited into the bank accounts of 2.16 lakh farmers in the state through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. This initiative aims to support farmers financially and boost their income. The scheme, which started in Tripura in 2019, provides Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmer families in three instalments.
The Minister highlighted that the PM-KISAN scheme assists farmers in purchasing agricultural inputs and meeting household requirements. The entire funding for this scheme comes from the Central government. Minister Nath mentioned that more than Rs 4 lakh crore has been transferred to over 11 crore farmers nationwide until the 21st instalment. Additionally, farmers in Tripura who have received land titles in specific areas are also benefiting from this scheme.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi digitally released the 22nd instalment of PM-KISAN, transferring Rs 18,630 crore directly to the bank accounts of over 9.32 crore eligible farmers across the country. In Tripura alone, Rs 46.36 crore will be credited to the bank accounts of 2.16 lakh eligible farmers under this scheme.
