The Tripura government is gearing up to ensure secure and smooth elections for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) and the by-election in the Dharmanagar Assembly constituency. The TTAADC, comprising 30 members, is scheduled for polls on April 12, while the Dharmanagar Assembly seat by-election will take place on April 9.
To bolster security arrangements, a high-level review meeting, chaired by Director General of Police Anurag, was conducted in hybrid mode with top officials from the Police Headquarters. This meeting focused on election preparedness and security measures, involving Superintendents of Police, Commandants of the Tripura State Rifles, and Sub-Divisional Police Officers.
Security personnel from various forces, including the state police, TSR, CRPF, and Assam Rifles, will be deployed to maintain law and order during the electoral process. Additionally, a security coordination meeting was held between Assam Rifles officials and the district administration of Khowai district to assess the security situation ahead of the TTAADC elections.
