Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB), a prominent Regional Rural Bank in India, has introduced its first co-branded ‘RuPay Credit Card’ in partnership with Punjab National Bank (PNB). This initiative makes TGB the first RRB sponsored by PNB and the first in the country to offer such a card, marking a significant milestone in the banking sector. Operating through various branches in Tripura, TGB is celebrating its Golden Jubilee year under the leadership of Satyendra Singh, the Chairman.
The collaboration between PNB and TGB for the co-branded ‘RuPay Credit Card’ signifies a major advancement in TGB’s digital transformation journey. This move aims to enhance customer convenience and promote inclusive growth, especially for customers in rural and semi-urban areas. The launch event was attended by key officials from both banks, emphasizing their commitment to innovation and sustainable banking solutions for the people of Tripura.
Under the leadership of Chairman Satyendra Singh, Tripura Gramin Bank has been actively involved in implementing various government welfare programs, ensuring transparent and efficient delivery of benefits to the grassroots level. Through initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and Direct Benefit Transfer, the bank has successfully integrated unbanked households into the formal financial system and facilitated the timely delivery of government benefits.
Singh highlighted the bank’s contributions under schemes such as the Kisan Credit Card, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, and others, which have significantly improved social and financial security for farmers and vulnerable sections. Additionally, Tripura Gramin Bank continues to support rural livelihoods, women empowerment, and youth entrepreneurship in Tripura, reflecting its commitment to building a more inclusive and empowered economy.
