Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that Tripura has become the first state in India to launch the ‘Track Me’ feature in the 112 India mobile application. This feature aims to enhance the safety and security of women and elderly citizens. The Chief Minister made this announcement during the passing-out parade of newly recruited constables at the KTD Singh Police Training Academy in Narsingarh, near Agartala.
Saha highlighted the state government’s continuous efforts to improve the policing system in Tripura. He emphasized the significance of empowering women and expressed pride in the sincerity, discipline, and honesty displayed by women in various sectors. The Chief Minister praised the Tripura Police Force for its achievements, including being honored with the President’s Colours and completing 150 years of service.
In addition to the ‘Track Me’ feature, Tripura Police personnel have received training in technical and modern policing methods. Saha assured that the government would provide ongoing support to strengthen the state’s policing system. He also announced the upcoming issuance of appointment letters to 218 Sub-Inspectors and the recruitment of 916 more police constables to enhance law enforcement in Tripura.
The Chief Minister further mentioned Tripura’s initiatives, such as organizing an exhibition on Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and securing the third position in implementing new criminal laws. Saha expressed the state’s aspiration to become a leading state in policing. He acknowledged the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in sanctioning Indian Reserve battalions for the Tripura State Rifles, aiming to bolster the state’s security infrastructure.
