Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has announced that all schools in the state will now begin their daily classes by singing the national song “Vande Mataram” followed by the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana.” This initiative aims to enhance patriotism, discipline, and national consciousness among students.
The decision, shared by Saha on social media, is part of efforts to promote national unity, respect for India’s cultural heritage, and a stronger sense of responsibility towards the nation among the younger generation. The state government seeks to nurture students into more aware, responsible, and patriotic citizens through this measure.
The Education (School) Department’s notification, shared by the chief minister, outlines the implementation of the decision in all government, government-aided, and privately managed schools, including Madrassa schools. The guidelines emphasize the importance of observing proper protocol during the rendition of the National Song to instill national pride and preserve cultural heritage.
In line with national directives, all schools will now formally start their academic routine with the singing of “Vande Mataram” and “Jana Gana Mana.” Students, teachers, faculty members, and administrative staff are required to stand at attention whenever the National Song is sung or played to show respect and maintain decorum. The state government believes this initiative will strengthen national unity, enhance students’ civic responsibility, and deepen their respect for the country’s values and symbols.
