US President Donald Trump revealed that the US military successfully eliminated the alleged leader of the Venezuelan criminal group Tren de Aragua in a coordinated operation with Venezuela. The operation, conducted by the US Southern Command, targeted Héctor Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, also known as “Niño Guerrero,” described by Trump as the notorious leader of Tren De Aragua, a highly violent terrorist organization.
Trump emphasized that the military strike was a swift and lethal response to fulfill his commitment to combat violent criminal groups that have infiltrated the US through its southern border. The President highlighted that the action was in line with his promise to eradicate such threats and deliver justice to the victims and their families, including Americans like 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray and 22-year-old Laken Reilly.
Additionally, Trump criticized former President Joe Biden’s immigration policies, blaming them for allowing criminal elements to enter the country unchecked. He underscored his administration’s efforts to designate Tren de Aragua as a Foreign Terrorist Organization and intensify operations against criminal networks throughout the Americas.
The President affirmed that the military operation was executed in collaboration with Venezuelan authorities, ensuring that Tren de Aragua terrorists no longer find refuge in Venezuela or elsewhere. Trump vowed to continue pursuing these criminals relentlessly, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to combating drug lords and murderers across the region.
Tren de Aragua, originating in Venezuela, has extended its criminal activities to various Latin American nations, with US authorities linking the group to illicit practices such as drug trafficking, human smuggling, extortion, and kidnapping.
