US President Donald Trump utilized campaign-style tele-rallies to back Republican candidates in Alabama and Georgia. During the rallies, he announced an agreement with Iran aimed at preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Trump, addressing Republican voters in these states before primary runoff elections, discussed various themes including immigration, election security, crime, and foreign affairs.
At a virtual rally for Alabama Congressman Barry Moore, who is vying for the Republican Senate nomination, Trump mentioned the finalized agreement with Iran. He assured that the deal ensured no nuclear weapons in Iran, emphasizing that people would return home soon. Trump reiterated this during a separate tele-rally for Georgia Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones, a gubernatorial candidate, stating that the US had ended the war with Iran and secured a commitment against nuclear weapons.
The President’s endorsements were part of his push for Republican voters to support his chosen candidates in the upcoming state races. In Alabama, Trump endorsed Moore, praising him as the ideal “America first candidate” who would champion border security, military funding, and administration-backed tax policies. Additionally, Trump supported Tommy Tuberville for governor and John Wahl for lieutenant governor. In Georgia, he similarly endorsed Burt Jones for governor, commending his backing of election integrity efforts and early support for Trump’s presidency.
Throughout the tele-rallies, Trump criticized Joe Biden’s immigration policies, highlighted his administration’s border enforcement actions, and advocated for the SAVE America Act to enhance election integrity. He also touted increased investments in the US under his leadership, claiming a substantial $18 trillion influx into the country. These events underscored Trump’s enduring influence in Republican primary politics, particularly in conservative southern states where his endorsements hold significant sway.
