Two individuals have been apprehended for assaulting women with a sword in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, following a disagreement regarding stray dogs. The arrested suspects, Ashok Singh Chauhan and Nafees Ansari, were involved in the altercation at Shravan Kanta Colony. The incident stemmed from a dispute between Chauhan and the colony residents over the issue of stray dogs.
Chauhan, a resident of Sharda Kunj colony, had a confrontation with the Shravan Kanta Colony residents concerning the stray dog matter. He, along with Ansari and others, visited the colony and verbally abused the residents regarding the dogs. During the altercation, Chauhan physically assaulted two women from the colony, Vandana Sen and Laxmi Thakur, causing severe injuries that required hospitalization.
The accused, Chauhan and Ansari, were captured after a thorough search in various locations. The police also recovered the sword used in the attack. Chauhan’s discontent with the residents arose from their complaints about the stray dogs causing disturbances in the area. The residents had raised concerns about the dogs chasing people, behaving aggressively, and posing risks to children and the elderly.
