Two individuals have been apprehended by the Delhi Police Special Cell’s Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations for running an inter-state cyber fraud scheme that involved producing and vending counterfeit government identity papers via a website. The accused were found managing the website bkprint.in, which allowed users to create phony Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, PAN-related documents, and other fake government records in exchange for online payments.
The police disclosed that the illicit operation was focused on fabricating forged documents resembling authentic government-issued identity papers. These falsified documents could potentially be misused for identity theft, fraud, and acquiring genuine government documents through deceptive means. The crackdown was initiated following intelligence indicating the website’s involvement in the distribution of forged government documents.
Upon creating a dummy user account to verify the information, investigators discovered that the website necessitated users to recharge a digital wallet before accessing its services. By transferring Rs 100 through the provided UPI ID, officials successfully generated counterfeit Aadhaar and voter identity cards, underscoring the fraudulent nature of the documents despite their visual similarity to legitimate government-issued IDs.
