Two bodies were discovered in the Mahamaytala area of Garia, located on the outskirts of Kolkata in West Bengal. A woman, identified as Rupbani Das, around 50 years old, was brutally attacked and killed inside her beauty parlour by a young man from Kashmir who later took his own life. The police suspect the incident arose from a strained relationship between the two individuals.
The tragic event unfolded when the man entered the parlour and began stabbing the woman, causing her to collapse from severe bleeding. Upon notification, a significant police presence arrived at the scene and rushed the injured woman to a hospital, where she was declared dead. The man’s lifeless body was also found inside the parlour, with his identity yet to be confirmed as investigations continue.
Authorities believe that the man likely committed suicide following the brutal attack, possibly due to tensions stemming from their troubled relationship. Both bodies have been taken for post-mortem examinations as part of the ongoing investigation by the police. The incident has stirred shock and concern in the local community, prompting questions about security, especially with the upcoming Assembly elections and safety in the Kolkata vicinity.
