At least two individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident when a speeding passenger bus crashed head-on with a car near Lalu Chhapra Chowk in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district. The collision, occurring in the early morning hours, resulted in the immediate deaths of both occupants of the car, with the impact drawing nearby residents to the chaotic scene.
Eyewitnesses reported that the bus, allegedly traveling at a high speed, collided with the oncoming car, leading to its crushing and the fatalities. Following the incident, the bus driver and co-driver fled the area, leaving the bus en route to Areraj-Bettiah at the time of the crash.
Local residents attributed the fatal accident to the bus driver’s reckless speeding. Authorities from the Paru police station responded to the scene, securing the area, retrieving the bodies for post-mortem examination, and initiating a search for the absconding driver and co-driver.
The deceased were identified as Bhanu Pratap Dwivedi and Om Prakash Kumar, with the damaged vehicles cleared from the road to restore traffic flow. A case has been filed against the bus driver for rash and negligent driving, as the community mourns the loss and calls for enhanced traffic management and stricter measures against speeding vehicles.
Police officials have launched an investigation to determine the precise cause of the collision, emphasizing the tragic consequences of irresponsible driving that leave families devastated and questions unanswered.
