Two young men were attacked with a knife during a robbery attempt while drinking alcohol at Sanjay Lake Park in East Delhi. Lukha Choudhary, one of the men, died on the spot, while the other, Vakil, is in critical condition after sustaining serious injuries.

The incident occurred when an unidentified miscreant tried to rob the men as they sat in the park. When Lukha resisted, the attacker stabbed both men before fleeing the scene. Lukha succumbed to his injuries immediately, while Vakil was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital for treatment.

Kanchan, Lukha’s wife, mentioned that the incident took place late at night. She expressed that upon Lukha not returning home, she began searching for him, revealing that the accused had taken his phone and money.

The Pandav Nagar police have taken custody of Lukha’s body for a post-mortem examination at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. Efforts are underway to identify the attacker using CCTV footage and local inputs, with several teams deployed for the task.

Stabbing incidents have been on the rise in Delhi and the National Capital Region, prompting the Delhi Police to crack down on online delivery platforms selling large knives that do not meet government-prescribed specifications. This action follows incidents where perpetrators in recent stabbings had obtained knives online.
