Two suspected poachers and a wildlife offender were captured in separate anti-poaching operations at Assam’s Raimona National Park under the Bodoland Territorial Council. The Central Range of Raimona National Park conducted a successful anti-poaching operation leading to the arrest of two individuals involved in illegal wildlife activities. Forest officials acted on intelligence reports of suspicious activities inside the park, resulting in the apprehension of the suspects.
The arrested individuals, Sukur Mushahary (35) and Parbeswar Narzary (38), were allegedly engaged in illegal hunting of endangered wildlife species within the park. Investigations are ongoing to identify and capture other members of the suspected poaching network. In a separate operation in the Sanfan Range of the park, one person, Ramal Goyary, was apprehended for entering the core area with the intent of fishing, a prohibited activity.
Ramal Goyary, a resident of Kachugaon in Kokrajhar district, was found to be an absconding accused in a wildlife offense case related to illegal hunting. The Forest Department is pursuing efforts to locate the other individuals who fled the scene. Authorities emphasized their commitment to safeguarding the biodiversity of Raimona National Park and warned of strict legal action against those involved in poaching or unauthorized activities in protected forest areas.
