Two young men lost their lives in a tragic road accident on the Lakhisarai-Munger section of National Highway 80 in Bihar. The incident occurred late at night near Garhi Bishanpur village under the Lakhisarai police station area. The victims were riding a motorcycle when a speeding truck collided with their vehicle, resulting in a fatal impact.
The motorcycle was severely damaged in the accident, leading to the immediate deaths of both riders at the scene. The deceased individuals have been identified as Mohammad Shahadat, a resident of Hakimganj, and Shahabuddin alias Bhuttu, from Vrindavan village in Lakhisarai district. The families of the victims and local residents are in mourning following this tragic event.
After the collision, the truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the scene. Local residents who witnessed the incident promptly informed the district police, who arrived quickly at the scene. The bodies were then moved to Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination, scheduled to take place in the presence of the deceased’s family members.
Authorities have taken possession of the truck involved in the accident and are working to identify both the driver and owner using the vehicle’s registration details. An FIR has been lodged at the Lakhisarai police station under charges related to reckless and negligent driving, with investigations ongoing. This incident has once again underscored the importance of road safety and the risks associated with night-time driving on Bihar’s highways.
