The arrests followed the circulation of a video containing abusive remarks, as stated in a police press release. The accused, identified as Ajit Paswan and Ram Singh, were taken into custody after being pinpointed during the investigation.
According to the police, the accused are alleged to have produced and shared a video containing abusive and derogatory comments aimed at the Chief Minister and the ex-Chief Minister. The content is said to have the potential to disrupt public order, impact social cohesion, and offend public sentiments. These allegations are subject to legal proceedings and will be addressed accordingly.
In response to the viral post, the Cyber Police Station in Kaimur (Bhabua) has filed a case under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The arrested individuals, Ajit Paswan and Ram Singh, are being remanded in judicial custody as the legal process advances. The Kaimur Police have emphasized the importance of responsible social media usage and cautioned against sharing content that could fuel violence or promote hatred towards any group or individual.
The police have urged the public to refrain from spreading rumors or objectionable material and to promptly report such instances to the authorities or through the emergency service number, Dial 112.
