The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reported that their air defences intercepted 13 ballistic missiles and 27 UAVs launched from Iran. This marks a total of 327 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,699 UAVs engaged by UAE air defences since the start of Iranian aggression. Tragically, two UAE armed forces members lost their lives, along with six individuals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Palestine.
The UAE Defence Ministry confirmed that 158 people sustained injuries of varying degrees, from minor to severe, in the attacks. The injured included nationals from a wide range of countries such as the UAE, Egypt, Pakistan, India, and several others. The Ministry emphasized its readiness to counter any threats and protect the country’s sovereignty, security, and national interests.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently spoke with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, expressing India’s strong condemnation of attacks on the UAE causing loss of life and damage to infrastructure. Both leaders highlighted the importance of ensuring safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. They pledged to collaborate for the prompt restoration of peace, security, and stability in the region.
