United Arab Emirates (UAE) Land Forces’ Deputy Commander, Brigadier General Staff Mohamed Khamees Mohamed Al-Hassani, visited New Delhi and met with Indian Army chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, to discuss enhancing bilateral military cooperation. The meeting highlighted the deepening defense relations between India and the UAE, focusing on expanding professional exchanges and finding new avenues for collaboration. Both sides expressed their commitment to strengthening institutional ties, building mutual trust, and promoting regional security and stability.
In January, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited India and engaged in extensive discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The leaders recognized the robust bilateral defense and security cooperation as a key aspect of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. They appreciated the recent visits and military exercises between the two countries, along with the signing of a Letter of Intent for a Strategic Defence Partnership.
General Upendra Dwivedi also visited the UAE in January to bolster defense cooperation and military-to-military relations with friendly nations. During his trip, he met with senior UAE Armed Forces leadership, received briefings on the UAE Army’s structure and capabilities, and visited key military facilities. This visit underscored the strengthening defense partnership between India and the UAE.
