The UAE’s Ministry of Defence announced that it successfully intercepted 12 out of 15 ballistic missiles detected by its air defenses, with the remaining three falling into the sea. Additionally, 17 out of 18 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) were intercepted, while one UAV landed within the country’s territory.
Since the beginning of Iranian attacks, a total of 253 ballistic missiles have been identified, out of which 233 were destroyed, 18 fell into the sea, and 2 landed within the UAE. The statement also mentioned the detection of 1,440 Iranian UAVs, with 1,359 being intercepted and 81 landing within the country.
The attacks resulted in casualties, with four individuals from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh losing their lives, and 117 people sustaining minor injuries. The injured individuals belong to various nationalities, including UAE, Egypt, Sudan, and several other countries. The UAE’s Ministry of Defence emphasized its preparedness to counter threats and ensure the security, sovereignty, and stability of the nation.
The conflict in West Asia escalated following US-Israel strikes on Iran, prompting retaliatory drone and missile attacks by Iran on US assets and regional allies. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reiterated the nation’s commitment to safeguarding its people and visitors, emphasizing readiness to address any security challenges.
