In a significant move against drug trafficking networks’ financial support, Udaipur Police have confiscated four vehicles suspected to be bought with money from illegal drug sales. This action, conducted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, is part of a broader effort to disrupt the economic foundation of drug cartels. Acting on orders from Rajasthan’s Director General of Police, the Udaipur Police are intensifying their crackdown on assets acquired through drug-related activities.
The operation, led by Vallabhnagar Police under the guidance of Udaipur’s Superintendent of Police Dr. Amrita Duhan, has targeted properties and assets linked to drug crimes. Investigations revealed that an individual named Vipin, associated with major drug smugglers in western Rajasthan, used illicit gains to purchase a Scorpio SUV, an Alto car, a loading tempo, and a Mahindra tractor. Following a thorough financial probe and evidence collection, the police determined that these vehicles were entirely funded by drug trafficking profits.
Under Section 68F of the NDPS Act, the police have seized all four vehicles after identifying their illicit origins. The case file, containing financial records and asset details, has been forwarded to authorities in New Delhi for further legal action. SP Dr. Amrita Duhan emphasized the police’s commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and the wealth amassed through drug-related crimes. She stated that the campaign against assets acquired through drug activities will persist, regardless of ownership arrangements, with strict adherence to the law.
The SP also urged individuals struggling with drug abuse to seek help and highlighted the police’s dedication to safeguarding youth from narcotics. This seizure represents a significant stride in Rajasthan Police’s ongoing mission to disrupt organized drug trafficking networks’ financial structures across the state.
