In a passionate speech in Yavatmal, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray criticized rebel MP Sanjay Deshmukh and the BJP. Thackeray apologized to voters for supporting Deshmukh and urged them to question the BJP for orchestrating defections. He compared the political climate to the monsoon, thanking farmers for attending the rally despite delayed rains.
Thackeray expressed regret over Deshmukh’s defection to Eknath Shinde’s faction and directly addressed the public. He accused Deshmukh of betraying the public trust and revealed details of the defection process. Thackeray also criticized the financial incentives behind political defections, calling out the alleged corruption in the political system.
Questioning the BJP’s commitment to Hindutva and the Ram Temple construction, Thackeray accused them of betraying Hindu principles. He raised concerns about funds meant for the Ram Temple and accused the BJP of exploiting Hindu sentiments. Thackeray dismissed claims of defection for development funds, citing examples of respected leaders who served without such incentives.
Thackeray challenged the integrity of the BJP and rebel leaders, invoking political icons like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L.K. Advani. He questioned the loyalty of those who defect for personal gains and urged the public to remember the true essence of public service. Thackeray emphasized the importance of people over financial power and called for a strong response in the upcoming state elections.
