Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray cautioned the government against underestimating the significance of the youth protests. He emphasized the importance of listening to the voices of young men and women expressing their concerns on the streets. Thackeray highlighted the protest led by Abhijeet Dipke at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Thackeray praised the youth for their activism and determination in raising their grievances in the scorching heat. He criticized the labeling of protesters as “cockroaches” and stressed the need for justice and respect for their cause. The demonstration, known as the ‘Cockroach’ protest, garnered significant support from the youth, reflecting their frustration over issues like the NEET paper leak affecting numerous lives.
The Shiv Sena leader, accompanied by his son Aaditya Thackeray and other opposition figures, used the movement to criticize the government’s handling of student issues and competitive exams. The protest, authorized by the Delhi Police and led by Abhijeet Dipke, highlighted the demand for Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. If the Minister does not step down, Dipke has threatened to resume the protest the following week.
Amidst the ongoing protests, security measures were reviewed at Abhijeet Dipke’s residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The police, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Prashant Mohite, assessed the security arrangements and issued necessary directives to ensure a peaceful environment. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any potential disturbances during the protest.
