Ujjwal Nikam, known for securing strict punishments in high-profile cases, including the 2008 Mumbai attack and 1993 Bombay bombings, has been named as the special public prosecutor in the Ketan Agarwal murder case. This decision came after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met with Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, who sought justice for his son. The Chief Minister’s Office confirmed the appointment in response to the family’s plea for a fast-track court trial.
Fadnavis has approved the appointment of Ujjwal Nikam and instructed the Law and Judiciary Department to begin the necessary procedures. Nikam has agreed to serve as the special public prosecutor in this case. The Chief Minister assured Ketan Agarwal’s family that the government is committed to ensuring severe punishment for the perpetrators and will leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice.
Ketan Agarwal tragically lost his life after allegedly being pushed off a cliff at Lohagad Fort by his fiancee, Siya Goyal, and her lover, Chetan Chaudhary. The police revealed that Siya and Ketan were engaged to be married but she conspired with Chetan to eliminate him. The government has promised Ketan’s family that it will strive to deliver justice and hold those responsible for his death accountable.
