Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine has provided Russia with a list of 1,000 detainees for an upcoming prisoner exchange. Zelensky emphasized the importance of ending the conflict with Russia and ensuring reliable security measures. He mentioned that Russia’s President Putin has expressed readiness for real meetings, signaling a potential shift in relations between the two countries.
Russia and Ukraine recently agreed to a three-day ceasefire and a swap involving 1,000 prisoners. However, both sides have accused each other of violating the ceasefire, with the Russian Defence Ministry reporting numerous violations by Ukrainian forces. Despite the ceasefire agreement, Russian attacks have resulted in casualties, with one person killed and 15 others injured in Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russian forces conducted 60 attacks on Ukrainian positions, undermining the ceasefire efforts. The ceasefire was initially agreed upon to coincide with Victory Day celebrations, but the situation on the ground remains tense with ongoing hostilities.
