Baerbock’s itinerary includes a meeting with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to discuss key multilateral issues.
Annalena Baerbock’s two-day visit to India began with paying respects to Mahatma Gandhi. She will engage in discussions on governance and regulation of Artificial Intelligence with representatives from the Ministry of Electronics and IT. Baerbock is set to meet the UN team in India led by Resident Coordinator Stefan Priesner.
Baerbock, familiar with India from previous visits, acknowledges India’s significant role in shaping the international order. She praised India’s efforts in lifting millions out of poverty, emphasizing the importance of democracy and freedom. Following her India visit, Baerbock will proceed to China for further engagements.
