Unidentified men launched an attack on a couple in Telangana’s Sangareddy district, resulting in the death of the woman in front of her husband. The incident took place at IDA Bollaram near Hyderabad on Saturday night. Anil Kumar and his wife Meena Devi, residents of Venkateshwara Colony, were returning home on a bike when their vehicle broke down near Gundigudem playground.
Anil Kumar, a native of Bihar, and Meena Devi were ambushed by unknown assailants. The attackers dragged Meena Devi into the bushes, where they fatally slit her throat. Despite Anil Kumar’s attempts to save his wife, he was also attacked with knives, sustaining severe injuries that required hospitalization. The victim’s body was then moved to the local government hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Following a complaint by Anil Kumar, the IDA Bollaram Police Station registered a case in connection with the incident. The couple had gone to the market to purchase groceries on Saturday evening. While returning home and facing a vehicle breakdown at a secluded spot, they fell victim to the brutal assault by unidentified perpetrators.
In a separate incident in Telangana’s Kamareddy district, a man named Raja Reddy was found murdered due to a land dispute. Raja Reddy, who had been missing for three days, was discovered in a well in Lingapur village. Police recovered his two-wheeler and mobile phone near a function hall, leading to the arrest of a man and his son for the crime. The accused admitted to the murder and guided the authorities to the location where they had disposed of the body.
Meanwhile, in Rangareddy district, a married woman named Bhavani passed away under suspicious circumstances. Bhavani, who had been married for only 11 months, was reported to have died by suicide at her residence. However, her parents raised suspicions of foul play, alleging that she was murdered. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Rajendranagar Police Station in the Cyberabad Commissionerate. Police transferred Bhavani’s body to Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem examination, following a complaint from her parents, who claimed she had been facing harassment from her in-laws.
