The Union Cabinet, as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise, has sanctioned a Bill and associated provisions to establish fast-track courts and impose stricter penalties in instances of paper leaks and exam misconduct. The proposed legislation is set to be presented in Parliament next week. These measures align with PM Modi’s recent commitment to introduce a bill in Parliament containing provisions for robust action.
The Bill proposes the establishment of fast-track courts with a mandate to conclude trials and issue judgments within three months. PM Modi, in a video message, emphasized the Central government’s efforts in drafting a comprehensive Bill to enforce stringent penalties in cases of paper leaks. He acknowledged the distress caused by such incidents to students and families and highlighted the government’s actions in apprehending and incarcerating the culprits.
PM Modi underscored the government’s dedication to ensuring the welfare of examinees, mentioning the mobilization of resources to conduct examinations promptly for approximately 2.2 million students. He expressed satisfaction over the recent declaration of results and the ensuing joy among successful students nationwide. The Prime Minister affirmed the government’s continuous efforts in addressing examination malpractices through the proposed establishment of fast-track courts and stringent punishments.
