Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Attend SCO Defence Ministers’ Meeting in Kyrgyzstan

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers’ Meeting in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Singh expressed India’s dedication to global peace amidst prevailing security challenges. He emphasized India’s unwavering stance on Zero Tolerance for Terrorism and Extremism.

The SCO Defence Ministers’ Meeting serves as a crucial platform for defense leaders from member states to discuss regional security issues, counter-terrorism strategies, and military cooperation. The ongoing edition in Bishkek is expected to focus on addressing security challenges in the Eurasian region and enhancing collective responses to instability and extremism.

During his visit, Defence Minister Singh will engage in bilateral discussions with defense counterparts from other SCO nations. These interactions aim to strengthen defense cooperation, deepen strategic engagement, and broaden security partnerships in the region. Singh’s consistent advocacy for united global action against terrorism has been a cornerstone of India’s participation in SCO forums.
