Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda stressed the importance of innovation, humanity, and compassion in shaping the future of medicine. Speaking at the 39th convocation of PGIMER, he highlighted the need to blend technological advancements with empathy in healthcare. Nadda underlined that while technology plays a crucial role, the healing power of human touch and compassion remains irreplaceable.
The event saw Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria as the chief guest and Vinod K. Paul, former NITI Aayog member, as the guest of honor. Nadda commended PGIMER for its contributions to healthcare, emphasizing its role as a leading medical education and research institution. He praised the institute’s focus on innovation, scientific inquiry, and evidence-based medicine.
Reflecting on India’s healthcare progress, Nadda noted a significant increase in medical colleges and seats over the past decade. He highlighted the growth in undergraduate and postgraduate medical seats, showcasing the country’s evolving medical education landscape. Nadda urged young doctors to embrace their responsibility with humility, compassion, and a commitment to society.
