Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda took part in a tree plantation event in Shillong, Meghalaya, to mark World Environment Day. The program, held at the Shillong Golf Club, is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “One Tree One Mother” campaign, promoting environmental conservation.
During the event, Nadda emphasized the strong bond between motherhood and nature, highlighting how both nurture and sustain life. He praised the campaign’s growth since its launch in 2024, with numerous BJP members participating in tree planting initiatives nationwide.
Nadda stressed the significance of expanding green spaces and raising environmental awareness amidst global challenges like climate change. He urged citizens, especially the youth, to engage in conservation activities and adopt eco-friendly behaviors.
Senior BJP leader A.L. Hek, present at the event, emphasized the importance of collective efforts in protecting natural resources. He called for joint action by governments, communities, and individuals to safeguard forests, water sources, and biodiversity for a sustainable future.
The tree planting event in Shillong was part of the BJP’s nationwide activities on World Environment Day, where party members worked on plantation drives and promoted environmental consciousness.
