Union Home Minister Amit Shah disclosed that terrorists utilized 40 kg of explosives in the Red Fort car bomb explosion that resulted in the deaths of 11 individuals on November 10.

During a two-day ‘Anti-Terror Conference’ hosted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in New Delhi, Shah addressed the audience. The attack near the Red Fort involved terrorists loading explosives into a car, which detonated as a suicide bomber drove it near a busy traffic signal close to the historic monument.

In a related development concerning the Red Fort blast, a Delhi court extended the NIA custody of two suspects involved in the bomb blast case. The court granted the NIA an additional 10 days to interrogate Yasir Ahmad Dar and extended the custody of the other suspect, Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla, by eight days.

Yasir Ahmad Dar, hailing from Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir, is the ninth individual arrested in connection with the case, according to the NIA. He was apprehended in New Delhi under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
