Allegations of a cover-up in the Ballari shootout case have been made by Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy against the Congress-led government. He accused the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Home Minister of trying to conceal the killing of a Congress party worker.
Kumaraswamy demanded a thorough investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the shooting incident involving the gunman of a close associate of Ballari MLA Nara Bharat Reddy. He highlighted that the postmortem of the slain Congress worker, Rajashekar, was allegedly conducted illegally twice.
Questioning the need for a second postmortem, Kumaraswamy called out the government for its attempt to suppress facts and falsely implicate others. He criticized the government’s handling of the case, pointing out inconsistencies in statements made by officials regarding the incident.
Accusing the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of trying to bury the Ballari shootout case, Kumaraswamy criticized the government’s response and its treatment of the accused individuals. He raised concerns about the breakdown of law and order in Karnataka and called for transparency in the investigation process.
