Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy accused the Congress government of a significant irregularity in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Ramanagara district. He presented a video as evidence and called for the immediate suspension of the Deputy Commissioner and action against negligent officials. Kumaraswamy claimed that the government was involved in creating documents for fake voters, including illegal immigrants, under the Chief Minister’s influence.
Expressing his concerns at a press conference, Kumaraswamy highlighted the attempts to disrupt the electoral roll revision process in various parts of Karnataka. He urged the Election Commission of India to intervene promptly to address the alleged irregularities. The Minister criticized the government for organizing a large gathering for the revision process instead of following the mandated door-to-door verification by Booth Level Officers.
Kumaraswamy raised alarm over the protection and facilitation of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants to obtain voting rights. He accused the ruling party of pressuring officials to create documents for these immigrants, jeopardizing national security. The Minister condemned the misuse of power by the Chief Minister and emphasized the need for proper conduct during the electoral roll revision.
