Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has pledged extensive Central aid for flood-affected Arunachal Pradesh. He announced a thorough evaluation of the damage, ensuring new homes for families who lost theirs, along with compensation for crop, land, and livestock losses.
Chouhan, accompanied by Union Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, conducted on-site surveys in the flood-impacted regions. They reviewed relief efforts and the situation in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, emphasizing immediate aid distribution to affected families.
The Union Minister highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal concern for the situation, directing full support for those affected. He praised the community’s resilience, observing their proactive measures like repairing roads and building protection walls without official directives. Chouhan commended the collective efforts and spirit of the villagers in addressing the crisis.
Chouhan assured that the government, under PM Modi and CM Khandu’s leadership, is working urgently to restore normalcy. He chaired a meeting in Itanagar to review relief operations, stressing the need for seamless coordination between Central and State authorities for swift rehabilitation.
