Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticized the Telangana government for issuing show cause notices to Moulana Azad National Urdu University over unused land, calling it ‘shameful’ and ‘unacceptable’. He warned the Congress government that if it proceeds with taking over the university land, he will support students in launching a statewide agitation. Bandi Sanjay questioned the government’s actions, highlighting the importance of preserving educational lands.
The BJP leader expressed concern over the government’s focus on questioning land usage at the university, emphasizing the need to safeguard educational institutions. He criticized the lack of action against land encroachments in the state and called for utilizing such lands for public welfare. Bandi Sanjay specifically mentioned the alleged encroachment at the Fatime Owaisi Educational Campus in Hyderabad.
Bandi Sanjay reiterated that touching university and education lands is a ‘red line’ and issued a warning to the Telangana government to retract any decision to acquire university lands. He vowed to support students and initiate a statewide protest if the government persists. The Minister’s stance follows similar support from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao, who also condemned the notices to the university.
